The authority try to calm the parents of students in ORT HOLON after feeling radiation sickness symptoms

Last week there was a meeting between representatives of the Environmental Protection Ministry, The city municipality,  the school management, ORT schools network management in Israel , and the parents of students in the ORT HOLON school.
About 20 years ago, a cell tower was erected next to the school (20 meter from it). This year the parents finally noticed that their kids suffer from headaches, nausea, fatigue and other radiation sickness symptoms.  Last year one of the students in this school died from cancer.  The parents went on a struggle to take the tower done and they are on a two month strike in order to achieve that.

I saw few parts of the meeting on videos and was sorry to see that all the official representatives were addressing only the quick return of the kids to school and not the removal of the antenna. The ministry representative, Prof Gelberg told the parents all kind of technical stuff that were not accurate and very simplified and somewhat misleading, like for example that he prefer cellphone towers on public buildings and that bellow and above the main lobe of the antenna there is no radiation (neglecting side lower/higher beams - see picture below). He also argued that the ministry is responsible only to the radiation and measurement side of the antenna, forgetting to note that the standards used are based on heat only and are not protective of humans, that the measurements are done by slow meters and therefor give partial results. I saw the municipality representative saying they can't do anything to help, that the tests are OK and the antenna have all the documentation (other municipalities helped in the past by finding problems in the structure or the infrastructure around the antenna and demanding it to be remove on that ground). Then the representative of ORT said that all they want is the return of the kids to school in the quickest and best way (but what about the kids that are already sick and the kids that will be sick from the radiation? ).

During the meeting there was a protest outside the school.

There is going to be a meeting in the Israeli parliament this week (15/11/2018) about this issue. In the meeting we expect to hear the same "not my responsibility" talks, but we hope to say the truth: Standards are high and non-protective, measurements are not done adequately, people are getting sick and everyone else just want to continue with their daily rothin.

a Cell phone tower next to a school in Israel caused headaches

A Cell tower, that was erected about 10 years ago in front of a school  in The Israeli city of Holon, caused headaches and other symptoms in students. The parents went on a stick and the students did not attend the school in the past few weeks.

Now an agreement was signed between the city, parents and the ministry of education to install RF Blocking nets over the walls and to band the use of cellphones in the classes.
In addition a RF monitoring station would be installed in the school, but it's measurement is expected to be partial and most likely will be used to calm the public as the level will always be below the standards (which are based only on thermal damage to the tissue and not on biological or health damage).

The story was reported in the local newspaper of 'Hasikma Holon'.
I hope that this is just the first step and that the tower will be completely removed.
There is no place for cell tower near building and houses.
This is yet another example where the radiation from a cell phone tower caused health effects in kids. I hope this would be a lesson for those call for more cellphone towers in order to reduce the radiation levels from the phones, on the expense of 24X7 full body exposure, in multi frequencies that will rise.

City of Herzeliya deploy LED light with wireless RF technology

Few weeks back I went to Herzliya, were I used to live for about 7 years. On this visit I saw that the street lights on the street my old house stands, were upgraded to led lights. On top of the reflector I saw something that on first glance looked to me as a small RF antenna.
I looked it up tonight and it seems to be true.
I found a brochure from one of the manufacturer's noting that the communication was from one street light to the other and to a main controller in 2.4GHz:

I did not have the chance to test the RF radiation from these poles. I don't know if they radiate all the time, once in few seconds, minutes or hours.

2 words and lots of PR soften a 25 million $ study that find cell phone's radiation not healthy

2 words and lots of PR soft the finding of a 25 million $ study that find cell phone radiation is not healthy for you. This is my headline after reading the first 12 pages of the 2 summaries of the NTP study published this month.
The Study found the following main findings:

1. Higher ratio of Glioma in the mail rates that were exposed.
2. Higher radio of Swanova of the heart (cancer in the similar cells as in the case of acoustic neuroma).
3. Precancerous conditions in rats and mice that were exposed.
4. Smaller wait for offsprings
5. Evidence of DNA breaks in exposed animals. 

The 2 words that play a crucial part in downgrading the outcomes of the NTP study, and I am guessing were inserted to the summary of the study by a PR professional or someone who wanted to downgrade that all study, are "equivocal" and "some". accompanied to the word "evidence" they  light a shady light on the outcomes. These words not only downgrade the outcomes of the study, they also present the all study as doubtful, dubious & unreliable.

In cases that the study showed statistically unsignificant results (but still a risk) or that he risk was seen in only one exposure group they used the term - "equivocal evidence" (please see in the picture below undermarked with a  Red line).

In cases that the study showed statistically significant result or that the risk was seen in most exposure groups, they used the term -  "some evidence" (please see in the picture below undermarked with a  purple line) .

FDA, FCC and other Non-ionizing damage demiers PR claim the study outcomes show that as they suspected the risk is not too high. They also point out that in their opinion the exposure was higher than every day users are exposed to.
I read some articles that actually argue that their understanding of the NTP results is that  "cell phone use makes you lose weight and increase your lifespan.

The PR of this article turned the facts around. The  NTP is a study that show DNA DAMAGE in life mammals(!!!) due to cellphone radiation exposure. It shows procarcinogenic condition in exposed animals(!!!). It shows higher cancer rates of Glioma and acoustic neuroma in exposed rates (!!!).

Regardless of the PR, I hope that when this study will be discussed in closed rooms of the IARC and other scientific bodies, it will contribute to the understanding that cell phone radiation is a clear carcinogenic.  

New Israeli study - 58% of the parents against smart phones in classes

A New Israeli study shows that 58% of the parents are against the use of smart phones in classes but only 28% of them will act in order to stop this use pushed by the ministry of education.
The study is reported in the Israeli newspaper MAARIV.
Prof' advice the ministry to show the parents the advantages of using smart phones in class in order to persuade them to go along with the ministries BYOD program.

"Prof. Ina Blau: "There is a lack of understanding among parents about the potential of technology to improve learning, and I would recommend that the Ministry of Education invest in explaining and demonstrating this potential."

New study by Dr Hagay Levin, review about 185 studies that were published between 1971 and  2011, shows that Sperm Quality in in western world is in decline in last 40 years.
The Study was done in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with the Haddasa Hospital, and the Mount Sinai hospital in New York.
The results show a 52.4% decline in sperm concentration and 59.3% decline in total sperm count in men from North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand  While in South America, Asia and Africa, there was no significant decline (much less studies are available on these regions).
The researchers say that low sperm quality have been linked with exposure to chemicals used in pesticides and plastics, obesity, smoking, stress, diet, and even watching too much TV.

The main argue is that there is not "good evidence" to health effect from cellphone and WIFI devices, so I guess there is no need to warn the public.

Define "good science" or "good evidence" , I guess their definition of "good evidence" (which they say does not exist) is that it is "good" only if it comply with their false theory that EMF have not health effect.

The fact that RF (Radio Frequency ) can't break an electron from the atom directly does not mean it can not cause biological changes and damage in other ways.

This is just like what we saw in the past with Tobacco, asbestos and other agents. The industry is trying to continue the selling a production of services and products that can pose a health risk.

People and scientist that believe that there is no health effect to RF exposure are not only wrong but they serve the industry's' interest and not the public and should recheck their science.

The only investigation that should be done is of the relations of those that file the complains, and of the NHS and WHO and ICNIRP with industry.

Electromagnetic Hyper Sensitivity is real and cause by exposure to EMF. people tha suffer from it are the first to react. As time passes and exposure increases, more and more people will suffer. It starts with pain in the head when talking on the cellphone and get worse with time to a point in which every exposure, to even very low level, cause pain.

In some of the studies done on EHS, the researches wrongly exposed the subjects to EMF radiation when there should have been none. Then when the subjects (not only EHS people) reacted to the exposure, the researches wrongly concluded that it was not real and cause by fear of from the phone.

Jerusalem to become "smart" city

 Jerusalem municipality declared the deployment of "smart city" technology over the next few years.
The deployment, so the municipality argue, will improve their ability to serve the public.
The municipality claims that the radiation emitted from the systems is "low " and "safe"


"The frequencies used by the network are completely free and safe to use. The system is also secure and there is no risk of privacy. The equipment consumed has an extremely low radiation - lower than a standard home router - thanks to the high frequency and narrow beam."

"WIRELESS RADIATION AND HEALTH" Expert Forum - January 2017 (Preliminary post)

This passing week I took part in the "WIRELESS RADIATION AND HEALTH" Export Forum on Environmental Health Research and Policy Priorities, that was organizes by Devra Davis and Charles Greenblatt and that took place in the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Hebrew University in Jerusalem Israel between the 23-26/01/2017.

The forum included presentations, talks and working groups (Basic science, Epidemiology, Measuring and assessments and Policy making) . leading scientist, academics, engineers, medical doctors, and government officials from several countries (Israel, USA, UK, Brazil, Argentina, Switzerland, Italy, Cyprus) took part.

The presentations and talks were mainly about the biological effect of RF and non ionizing radiation, several new studies and finding were presented, new ways and techniques for Radiation simulation, safety standards and testing. The questions that was asked again and again was: "do we know enough?" and "What should we do next?". It appears that the majority agreed that we do know that there are biological effects, that children are the most vulnerable,  that the currant safety standard that are based on heat effect only are not sufficient. In addition it seems to me that the general view was that we do know enough to act now and that the current definition of RF radiation as a "possible carcinogen" should be update to "probable carcinogen". Several voices called to move from the precautionary approach to prevention.

I had the privilege to present a short presentation about my EHS Story , EHS people limitation and needs in front the Epidemiology working group.
In this conversion I meet many interesting people both from Israel and from around the world. I had the pleasure of meeting academics and scientists from Israel, USA, UK, Cyprus, Engineers from Brazil and Switzerland and of course Devra Davis and her hard working and promising staff Thoedora and Sarina.  I would like to thank the organizers for this opportunity to take part in such an event, as an EHS person I can say it was not easy but I think that it was a privilege and very fruitful.

New study from the NTP link cell phone radiation and cancer

The study showed that some of the rates that were exposed to RF (GSM and CDMA) developed Glioma and malignant Schwannoma of the heart. Non of the "not exposed" rates developed these tumors.

The rate were divided into 4 groups of exposure  SAR 0 (control), 1.5, 3 and 6. 

The exposure was for 2 years, 18 hours a day, 10 minutes On , 10 minutes Off.

The study is not the first that show these kind of results. But it is the first US government study that show them. This is the most important thing about this study, not the cost of the study, not the rates of cancer found, not the flaws or strong points. The only thing that counts is that this US government study actually prove what was seen on other non government studies and disprove the misleading believe that the only possible effect of non ionizing radiation such as RF is heat.

RF emission from Air Condition system - The internet of things is coming at you!

Few weeks ago we visit friends of us that live outside the city. We go there once every couple of weeks. It is a low RF environment, and the only problem is the airplanes flying above on their approach for landing in a nearby air port.
When we got there the guy, Ori, showed me their new air condition system and praised it. I did not pay to much attention.  During this visit I developed a serious headache, which was more that what I expected to feel from the airplanes over passing. I came back home feeling very sick. took me more than a night sleep to recover.
2 weeks ago, we visit them again. This time I was ready. I brought my EMF meter , the CORNET ED78S. As soon as we arrived I started searching for new RF devices inside the house. The meter showed a bit higher RF levels in the house, in comparison to the background level. I scanned the walls searching for the device that created these levels. After a few seconds I found it. It was their new SAMSUNG Air Condition. It seems that it has a WIFI control feature that allow you to control it from your smart phone. The Air Condition system emitted short RF transmissions every couple of seconds. The RF transmission was emitted as long as the Air Condition was connected to the power lines, even when the system was turned off.
I tried to take the cover apart and to find the WIFI card in the air condition but was unsuccessful (for now).

The Air condition system is part of a overgrowing line of products, that used to be "no risk" for EHS people as they did not emitted any RF, and that are now being "upgraded" to have WIFI capabilities both for control functions and communication. It is nicked name "The Internet of Things". Along this line you can find light bulbs with wireless capabilities, refrigerators, smart TVs,  DVB-T set-top boxes, smart remote controls, security cameras and many more.

Our recommendation is to avoid buying these products and to keep you house clear of RF emitting devices.

Wireless WIFI access points and laptops in the new born nursery

In 2012 my first child was born. The stay in the hospital was very hard for me as an EHS person. The hallways were full with small, but radiating cellular micro-cells. I had to go very quickly and tried to bypass them as fast as possible, armed with my RF Protection Hat and Jacket. In the nursery I notice the same micro-cells installed in the ceiling, but a RF test with an RF meter showed they were not active.

In 2014 my second child was born. This time when I visit the hospital, in addition to the micro cells in the hallways, I notice lots of WIFI Acess points all over the hospital. The crew also used wireless laptop on carts. I was very disappointed to see that the wireless laptops where in use also in the nursery. I also notice that in the nursery, 1.5 meters above new born babies, WIFI access point (that radiates all the time) was installed.
The radiation from these devices is adding to the new born babies, patients, visitors and stuffs' exposure to RF radiation in side the hospital. I would be nice to see that the health system is pushing the wireless out, banning the use of wireless and cellphones in side the hospital, and reducing  the exposure. But for now it seems that the exposure just get heavier and heavier.

Anti cellphone Antenna rallies in Rishon Lezion, Israel

The rally took place on Sunday (06/04/2014) near the shopping center where the antennas are installed on, and Yesterfay, Monday (07/04/2014) near the Rishon Lezion town hall building.
The parents are protesting for the complete removal of the antennas. The antennas are installed on top of the shopping center building, 25-50 meters away from the Negba elementary school where about 70 kids developed headaches, stomachaches and skin rashes. Most of the kids with the symptoms learned in the classrooms facing the antennas(north side).

The protest against the antenna started a year ago and was relaunched when the parents understood that about 70 of their kids suffer from similar symptoms.
In the school itself WIFI is installed and there is no band on the operation of cellphones and wireless devices. It is our assumption that the exposure of the kids to the radiation from antennas, on top to their exposure to the radiation from the WIFI system and the cellphones in the classes, drove the kids to develop symptoms over such a short time (about a year).
According to the parents, so far the WIFI was turned off and the students are asked to turn off their cellphones when in the classes.

The parents went on strike (not sending the kids to school) a month ago which led to the closing of the WIFI and removing the kids from the north classrooms facing the antenna.
The municipality of Rishon L'tzion has, for the past year, been in unsuccessful deliberations with a cell phone company to remove their antenna. After the first strike the parents were promised that the antennas will be removed within a month. A Few days ago the antennas where still transmitting and the parents when on a strike a second time. Now the antennas are currently not working, but they can be turned on in a meter of an hour or two. The parents continue their struggle demanding to remove the antennas completely .

Radio Frequency Radiation from Baby Monitor

One of the most problematic RF emitting devices is the Baby Monitor.
Most Baby Monitors in the world emit RF radiation all the time.
Most people put them right next to the baby's bed.
This cause RF exposure of a new born, from a close distance and trought the day.

Update - WIFI in schools in ISRAEL

Background
In the last 2 years, the ministry of education have being deploying wireless routers and laptops to schools in ISRAEL. What started as an experiment in 20 schools, with wireless internet and laptops, became a wide deployment of wireless routers and in more then 1000 schools so far.

Committee after Committee
During the last 2 years there have been several committees, including the ministry of education, ministry of health and ministry of environmental protection, that reviewed the exposure to none ionizing radiation in schools. These committees issue several reports that "recommended wired network" but did not ban wireless networks and laptops all together. One of the last committees moved the decision (and responsibility ) to the headmaster of the school.

Recommend wired, not banning WIFI
This was smart, saying "we recommend wired network", while the ministry of education gave the principal only one option, wireless. Most of the WIFI network were deployed this last summer, in a harry, with no other option given to the principals.

Communication with the ministry of education
During 2012, we (a group of EHS & EMR awareness activists) communicated with the ministry of education regarding the committees and regarding the deployment of WIFI in schools. This communication lead to some improvement in the committees reports, to the first time that EHS was addressed in a government document in Israel, but failed to bring a formal, full ban of WIFI.

Filling to the supreme court 
After failing to convince the ministry of education to stop the deployment of WIFI in schools and ban the use of WIFI in schools, after all our communication with the ministry came to a dead-end and few days before the start of the new school year, Attorney Michael Bach, representing the "Furom for sane cellphone and wireless use", the "National parents association" and attorney and EHS activist Dafna Tachover, filled to the supreme court with a request to order the ministry of education to stop the deployment and ban use of all WIFI in schools.

The court did not order the ministry to stop, as once, the deployment and to ban WIFI but it also did not dismiss the case. Since then the government responded to the suite generally saying that the suite was premature, with no base and that it has taken all the needed steps to reduce exposure and protect the students and teachers.

Spin: Banning it and allowing it in the same time
The ministry of education also published a final document (01/10/2012) that kind of (we will get to that) ban WIFI in schools, but allowing it in cases that the wired network will cause a physical risk, what? I have been in the computers business for 15 years now and not once I saw a wired network, that was installed currently, creating a physical risk. That was the loophole, all they need now is to say that the wired network is a physical risk and boom, WIFI is OK, and minutes after WIFI is deployed.
In this document there are also instruction to run safety radiation tests before and after WIFI was installed. the thing it that the Israeli standard (10% of ICNIRP) is too high and it does not protect normal people from everyday exposure, and does not protect EHS people from immediate exposure.

This week - The reply to the court
This week Attorney Michael Bach send his response to the government reply in which he describes the steps we took before applying to the court, the way that the ministry of education is deploying WIFI while it "recommend" on wired network, reports from parents that WIFI was deployed in their kids schools. In the reply  Attorney Michael Bach that there is no such case when good old fasion wired internet can create a physical risk, and that schools was get the approval of the parents before deliberately exposing their kids to none ionizing radiation.

Afraid from cellphone tower, using wireless devices

Last Friday i went to give a lecture about electromagnetic radiation in a building where a cellphone antenna was contracted next to it on a neighbored building. The people that came to the lecture were very upset with the cellphone antenna, but they all had smart phones. In the living room of the apartment the lecture and meeting was done in there was a wireless routed, a DECT  phone and 3 kids, one with a 10" tablet, the second with a iPhone and the third with a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, all surfing WIFI and playing internet games.

The RF levels inside the living room were very high, about 5mW/m2. after the WIFI router and the DECT phone were turned off (the kids stopped playing for a minuet)  the levels drops to 0.2mW/m2 just next to the windows.

People are not aware that all these smartphone, tablets and other wireless devices emit RF radiation. all the worry abouth is the cellphone antenna.

Even EHS people sometimes do the mistake of underestimating the danger cellphones and wireless devices. Every day EHS people call me using their smartphone (email, and voice conversation). For an EHS person to use a cellphone, a smart phone or any other wireless devices is like shooting a bullet into there own brain. Even in cases the an EHS person does not feel pain when using the cellphone or other wireless devices, he is putting him self in a danger zone, and I have no doubt that this exposure actually make his condition worse and pushes him to the edge of becoming even more sensitive.

The Israeli ministry of education recommendation regarding Cellphones, WIFI and ELF exposure

The Israeli ministry of education have published a draft position and summary document for public review (original doc - http://www.shituf.gov.il/discussion/660, English translation by Google: http://translate.google.co.il/translate?hl=iw&sl=iw&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.shituf.gov.il%2Fnode%2F660 ) regarding the exposure of children’s to RF and ELF radiation in the schools. The document was created by a joint cometty of the ministries of education, health and environmental protection.

The document addresses 3 types of sources:

1. Cell phones

2. WIFI wireless networks (routers, tablets and laptops).

3. Electric supply infrastructure

First look, second look
At first read it seams that the document is reasonable, but in a second read it seems that it has gaps and holes in it. The ministry approach regarding cellphone use in schools was changed according to the demeaned of 2 lawyers to follow the European resolution (http://norad4u.blogspot.com/2011/09/israeli-ministry-of-education-is-going.html). Regarding  WiFi, the document presents a loophole, it recommend not to use WiFi but leaves the decision to the headmaster in every school. This loophole actually allows the continue of the the deployment of WiFi routers and wireless laptops and tablets in schools when the responsibility is pushed onto the school it self. Activists and parents in Israel  report that the deployment of WIFI networks and use of wireless computers in schools has already started in several schools in the country. It seem that in 200 schools wireless routers has been installed and wireless laptops were given to the teachers. In 20 schools wireless laptop were introduced into classes in a ratio or 1 laptop for every 5 children. In the future when studnet and teacher will become ill the ministries will refer them to the doc in which the recommendation (no band over  WiFi  ) is not to use  WiFi  and wireless laptops and tablets, while in the field the ministry did nothing to stop it and some people will say the secretly permuted it. Regarding ELF fields, it seem that since the IARC/WHO resolution from 2001 both Israeli ministries of health, environment protection and education have learned and understand the potential danger of exposure to "week" ELF field as shown in the document

Dose not recognize health risk
The document calls for limitation of student exposure according to the precautionary principle, based on the IARC/WHO rolling and the interphone study. In the document there is no recollection and reference to the well known studies that show biological changes and influences of week RF sources. For example I can give the following 5 studies (one of then was done be Repacholi before he changed his mind and switch sides):

•  Brain damge after RF-MW exposure - Salford -2003
•  DNA brakes - Henry Lai and Dr Narendra -1996
• Lymphoma cancer in mice - Repacholi MH -1997
•  Creation of Free radicals as a result of RF radiation exposure - Friedman J- 2007
• Cell phone usage by pregnet women and of children causes behavioral difficulties - Divan HA, Kheifets L, Obel C, Olsen J - 2008

Regarding cell phones the main recommendations are:

1. Create an education program for safe and reasonable use of cell phones.
2. Deploy land line phone for students to use.
3. Create “cell phone use areas-rooms” in which cell phones use will be allowed (like smoking areas).
4. Deploy signs around the school that forbid the use of cell phones.
5. Teachers will be allowed to use their cell phones only in the teachers’ room.
6.  Cell phone use will be forbidden in schools’ transport service by the students, teachers, drivers and stuff.
7.  Active signal gummer should not be used

Bottom line: Cellphone use in schools will be restricted and limited but  not forbidden. This is a nice step forward but not all the way.



Regarding WiFi networks the main recommendations are:

 The education system is directed to prefer wired internet technologies and solutions ( WiFi system are still allowed in schools and the decision is with in every school jurisdiction.

1.  WiFi radiation levels should be tested before and after the deployment of WiFi systems.
2.  In old schools cables should be covered in a way that will not cause injuries.
3.  In new schools, wires should be installed below the floor.
4.  When wireless devices will be used, special software/hardware should allow to automatically control the radiation levels to they will be as low as possible.
5. When and where wireless systems and networks will be in used, at least one wireless router should be installed in every room, corridor, and class. For every 150 m² and 25 users there should be at least one wireless router. If 2 routers are installed in the same room they should be located in different parts of the room in order to allow max coverage of the wireless network.

Bottom line: The document leave a loop hole for WIFI deployment and use in schools. The responsibility is transferred to the school it self. WIFI is not recommended but not forbidden. This is probably done in order to allow schools that already expose their students to WIFI RF radiation to continue doing that,

  

   Regarding ELF from electrical equipment and networks the main recommendations are:

1. new electrical systems and old systems that are being maintenance should be handle in a way that will limit to the minimum possible the ELF magnetic and electric field emission.
2. The environmental protection ministry will share the tests result of ELF in schools with the education ministry.
3. The ministry of education and the ministry of environmental protection will permute a wide servey of ELF radiation in all schools, kinda gardens where the electrical cabinet is next to classes.  
4. the ministry of education will act according to the ministry of environmental guidance and recombinations where and when ever a problem will be found, in order to fix it and to coordinate with the bodies that operate the establishment and the Israeli Electric company.
5. charging of wireless laptops and tablets in side the classes or next to places people stay of pass should be forbidden (3 meters safety distance).
6. an education program should be created to educate students about reasonable and wise use of radiation emitting devices in the home environment.

Bottom line: In the ELF field I found the recommendations very good. Nice step forward.

General Bottom line:

The document seems to take the danger from RF radiation a bit lightly. It base it self on the "Precautionary Principe" when it does not consider the real science that is already available regarding the health effect of "week" RF radiation. The limitation that it offer might seems like a good step forward but it creates and keeps a "status qua" in which children and teachers will still be exposed to RF radiation in schools from  WiFi routers, laptops and tablets. 

We (a group of EHS people and ELF awareness activist here in israel) are trying to influence the final version of this doc so it will be based on the real science. Our gool is to band the use of WiFi and other wireless devbices in schools in order to reduce the exposure of students and teachers to the minimum. We hope to prevent the use of laptops, tablets, WiFi routers, cellphones and other wireless devices in schools.

We are all EHS people, we need to come together and we need a leader, maybe Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland will sign up for the job

We are all EHS people, we need to come together and we need a leader.

There are 3 stages or levels to EHS. Mild meaning a person gets a headache or some other symptoms when being in RF or ELF environment after several hours. Mid – meaning you get a headache or some other symptoms after a few minutes of being in an environment of RF or ELF when the symptoms go away hours after the exposure ends. Heavy EHS when even the smallest and shortest exposure to RF, ELF or dirty electricity can cause you severe and sometimes life treating symptoms that go away only after several days or weeks after the exposure ends.

Some of us can still work, or can use the computer but some of us can't even use electricity. Most of us pay an economical, social, and family price for being EHS. We did not choose this condition and we were not born this with it. All we want is to be normal again, to get our life back, to be able to live and enjoy living. However most people will settle for just "not suffering on a daily basis".

Around the world there are people with EHS that are trying to make a difference. Most of them are trying their best agents all odds and with a stiff health price. They try to advocate, tell, teach and educate the public about their condition. They are trying to say "if it happened to us, it can also happen to you" and they are trying to warn the public, governments, scientists and health agencies "we are the canaries of the wireless age, please listen to our story, listen and take a moment to reconsider the wireless madness".

Each and everyone of us that tries to speak up encounters 2 responses. The first response is "you are probably crazy". EHS people are often accused of being crazy, by the public, governments, scientists, medical doctors, health agencies and, of course, the cell-phones and wireless industries. The second response is from other EHS people, "new comers" that just found out about the source of their pain and suffering and "veterans EHS worriers" who try to help, support and offer some comfort.

Our actions are like a drop in the sea and have only a small effect. We can't compete with the money of the wireless and cell-phones industry and their PR campaigns, legal consultation and political lobbying this money is spent on. Every step we and other EMR activist achieve is overrun by one single commercial of a new smart phone or a new wireless service that is being offered. Most of the public remain uneducated about EHS and about the health effect of RF and ELF exposure. It seems that all people wants these days is to read and update facebook statuses using their smart phones.

We need to find a way to accomplish more. We need to make a bigger and more powerful impact on the public, governments, scientists and health agencies. We need to pull together and make a bigger dent on the universe. In order to do that, I think we need a well known, world class, leader.

We need someone who is already a public figure and who is not afraid to say in public "I am an EHS person and there are millions like me". We need someone who would be an example of how it is still possible to have a meaningful life without being glued to a Smartphone or a wireless laptop. We need someone who would dedicate much of his/her time, talent, political experience, strength, knowledge and people skills to promote this important issue. We need someone who has the ability to lead others. Someone who will rise to this difficult challenge of leading a suppressed and oppressed minority of about 10% of the modern world population, before we will become 50% or more. We need someone who will accept the quest of saving the world from it self. We need someone like Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland.

A few years back, when I just heard of Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland, who used to be the director general of the WHO and that she is an EHS I was filled with hope. I thought that if she is an EHS, then she probably made an effort and lead the WHO to recognize the EHS condition and to educate the public and the medical ministries around the world, that look up to the WHO for professional guidance. I was suppressed and disappointed that the WHO does not recognize that the cause of EHS is RF and ELF radiation exposure. I was also surprised when I read the WHO "fact sheets" about RF and ELF noting that "there are no advert health effect to RF and ELF.

Since then I followed Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland and searched for any sign of her global influence in the subjects of EHS, RF and ELF radiation. I was surprised again to see that she has none, I expected to here her voice and was surprised when it was silent. It seems that after leaving the WHO Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland did not do anything to promote the awareness of EHS and health effects of RF and ELF. It seems as if she chose the easy way out, but maybe it is not too late for here.

Last week Dr. magda havas asked Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland a question regarding her being an EHS in a conference in Waterloo Canada (http://www.magdahavas.com/gro-harlem-brundtland-talks-at-the-university-of-waterloo/ ) . Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland response has created hope in my heart that she might still take the roll and quest of the world leader of EHS people. The fact that she answered her cellphone (and the fact that she actually use one) made me think again.

If Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland, will accept the quest, the job and the title "leader of all EHS" I believe she will receive the support of all of us. If she would rise up despite all hardships, challenges, threats and personal pain she would not only find us EHS people united behind her, she would also find her calling, and would be able to fulfill and accomplish an opportunity of a life time, to be the leader of your true public.

Some people (I am no doubt among them) think their condition as an EHS is a challenge given by god, or if you prefer the universe . I don’t think that I was chosen or that I am special in any way, but I do feel and believe that it is my obligation and duty to try and help other EHS, educate and warn people. I do believe that Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland also has an obligation in this field, an obligation that comes with the fact she is an EHS person in a key position.

In my heart I hope that Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland, a physician in he background, the former prime minister of Norway, the former Environmental minister of Norway and the former head of the WHO would turn off her cellphone and will become the "leader of all EHS people". I think it is her duty and if she would take the job, despite her incomparable credential of a long career as a world leader, it would probably be the most important job she has ever done!
