The authority try to calm the parents of students in ORT HOLON after feeling radiation sickness symptoms

Last week there was a meeting between representatives of the Environmental Protection Ministry, The city municipality,  the school management, ORT schools network management in Israel , and the parents of students in the ORT HOLON school.
About 20 years ago, a cell tower was erected next to the school (20 meter from it). This year the parents finally noticed that their kids suffer from headaches, nausea, fatigue and other radiation sickness symptoms.  Last year one of the students in this school died from cancer.  The parents went on a struggle to take the tower done and they are on a two month strike in order to achieve that.

I saw few parts of the meeting on videos and was sorry to see that all the official representatives were addressing only the quick return of the kids to school and not the removal of the antenna. The ministry representative, Prof Gelberg told the parents all kind of technical stuff that were not accurate and very simplified and somewhat misleading, like for example that he prefer cellphone towers on public buildings and that bellow and above the main lobe of the antenna there is no radiation (neglecting side lower/higher beams - see picture below). He also argued that the ministry is responsible only to the radiation and measurement side of the antenna, forgetting to note that the standards used are based on heat only and are not protective of humans, that the measurements are done by slow meters and therefor give partial results. I saw the municipality representative saying they can't do anything to help, that the tests are OK and the antenna have all the documentation (other municipalities helped in the past by finding problems in the structure or the infrastructure around the antenna and demanding it to be remove on that ground). Then the representative of ORT said that all they want is the return of the kids to school in the quickest and best way (but what about the kids that are already sick and the kids that will be sick from the radiation? ).

During the meeting there was a protest outside the school.

There is going to be a meeting in the Israeli parliament this week (15/11/2018) about this issue. In the meeting we expect to hear the same "not my responsibility" talks, but we hope to say the truth: Standards are high and non-protective, measurements are not done adequately, people are getting sick and everyone else just want to continue with their daily rothin.

A petition to remove "Section 34" of the "Pergola Law", that ease adding cellphone antennas to existing masts, in Israeli Supreme Court"

This week a petition was filled to the Israeli Supreme court in order to delay or to remove section 34 of the "Pergola Law" which will make it very easy to the cellphone companies to add antennas to an already existing antenna site/mast, without giving the public a right to resist the installation.

The petition was filed by attorney Michael which represents the "Forum for sane cellphone use".

The petition asks that section 34 of the pergolas will be removed or alternatively delay it's implementation  until the Supreme Court decision on the issue.


The Reasons for the petition:

1. Section 34 come in conflict with the Israeli non-ionizing radiation law
2. The "Pergolas Law" discussed the issue of light construction and should not interfere with the issues of establishing cellular antennas. 
3. Installation is in contrary to the temporary order of  the Supreme Court on "wireless access devices". 
4. Section 34 that deals with cellphone antennas was "hide" in-between other sections of the law which  related to building permits. 
5. Violation of civil rights to oppose cellular antennas that will lead to the establishment of thousands of additional antennas without public consent.

What does section 34 allow? 

Cellphone companies will be able to add new cellphone antenna to an existing site using an expedited procedure of approval, without the possibility of the local authority or the public to resist the installation.
As a result, people who live opposite the existing antennas site (mast) will wake-up one morning and will see new antennas in front of their houses, that emit  more and more frequencies, that will radiate them throughout the day.
It will also allow the cellular companies to install and make infrastructure changes to the roof and the building on which the antennas are installed on, such as new fences (that hide the antenna) or new power transmission lines to the antennas, or massive air condition systems that cool off the antenna equipment room.


What will change because of section 34? 

In the past eight years, mobile operators install their antennas, using a law breach, inside small 80X50X30 boxs, calling them "wireless access devices". Using this law breach they were not obligated to inform the public about any future installation and the public had no way to resist. This conflict the "Israeli non-ionizing radiation law and caused thousands of victims of antennas that one morning wake-up having new cellphone antennas installed next to their homes, without their ability to resist the installation.

In 2008 a petition was submitted to the supreme court which claimed that the breach was not meant for cellphone antennas and that cellphone companies should not install cellphone antennas as  "wireless access devices".

Lately, after more than six years of legal activity to close the loophole, and when it seems that the Israeli Attorney General and the Supreme Court understood that cellular companies should not and could not use the loophole, the cellphone companies seems to have found an other way to install cellphone antennas without going through all the necessary procedure and to safe time and money on the back of the public.

Now, the Minister of internal affairs, Ms Gidon Sa'ar,  seems to have sold-out the public to the cellular companies and inserted section 34 of the "Pergola Law" that will  allow the cellphone companies to add new cellphone antennas to an existing. For example, if there is a mast of one cellphone company, the 4 other cellphone companies will be able to add their own sets of antenna on to this mast with very short legal procedure and without knowing the public. The public which lives or work next to the mast will be exposed to more broadcasters in more frequencies and to more lobes of RF radiation.

The cellphone companies will have to get the approval of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, but his opinion is based only on a "Thermal" standard and on lack of understanding of the biological effect of RF radiation. Have no doubt, the radiation from the antennas is not healthy and so is the radiation mobile wireless equipment.

On Sunday the 23/03/2014, parents from NEGBA primary school stopped sending their kids to school after Cell Tower antennas were not removed. A month ago it was promised by the municipality of Rishon Lezion that the antennas (see bellow) will shortly be removed. The municipality of Rishon Lezion came to an arrangement with the parents to half the stick (then) for a month. A Few days ago become known that the antennas were "shut down" but not removed. Later this week, RF radiation tests done by the parents show that the schools is still exposed to RF radiation from the direction of the shopping center where these 2 and several other antennas are installed on.
The parents decided to call for the removal of all the antennas on the shopping center and until then to gradually resume the stick.
Just to remind you, during the last year of exposure to the RF radiation from these antennas, the WIFI system in schools and the cellphones in the class room about 70 kids developed headaches, dizziness and stomach aches. A few weeks back, by chance, the parents found out that the symptoms are widely spreed.

30 elementary school students might be EHS in Rishon Lezion, Israel

A  few days ago, it was brought to my attention that there might be about 30 EHS students in one of the elementary schools in Rishon Lezion, Israel.
The school is located 25 meters from cellphone base stations that are installed on the roof of a shopping center, just a cross the street. In addition WIFI was installed in this school a few months ago and cellphone use is not banned in the classes.
According to a survey that was done by one of the parents, it seems that about 30 kids, mostly from the classes that face the antennas, are suffering from chronic headaches, skin issues, nausea and some more symptoms.

The parents held 2 meetings so far, in which I took part. The first meeting was in the offices of the municipality of Rishon Lezion, with municipal representatives. At the beginning of the meeting the municipal representative  ruled out the radiation as a possible cause of the symptoms, saying that the RF testing report by MALRAZ showed very low radiation levels. After hearing what the parents had to say and my explanations about EHS in addition to criticism about the radiation test report,  the municipal representatives agreed to take a second opinion and order a second test by a radiation tester which was suggested both by them and the parents (who I personally know and trust to show the real level even thought they are expected to be well bellow the Israeli RF standard which is 10% of ICNIRP thermal, non-protective standard).
The municipal city council member who is responsible for the environment protection in the city of Rishon Lezion, Ms's Yifat Meirovitz Yefet, reported about here efforts in the last year to remove the cellphone base station from the shopping center next to the school, so far without success. She reported that there is a new chance that the cell phone company will agree to remove the antennas soon.

Later on we (my self and about 30 parents) met in one of the parent's apartments to update the parents about the meeting with the municipal representatives, to let the other parents say whatever is on their mind and to coordinate the next steps,. In the beginning of the meeting, I shared with them info about EHS, the symptoms, how to diagnose their children , how to reduce their exposure and the necessity of acting to defend their children.

Cellphone antenna's were removed from a building in haifa

The city of Haifa managed to band the hand of cellular companies, in order to remove cellphone antennas from the balconies of an apartment in the city of Haifa. Residence and activist struggled the antennas since 2007!. The antennas where removed by the cellphones companies after the city municipality issues letters in which they give advance notice before cutting off the electricity to the apartment. The companies tried to object to the the municipality but where turned away by the municipality appeal committee.

This case prove that if the committee authority relay wants to help it's citizens in the fight against cellphones antennas it can always find a way to do it.

Kick off convention for the "lobby for reasonable cellphone use", Knesset-Israel

Today (19/07/2011) a kick off convention for the "lobby for reasonable cellphone use" was held in the Knesset, the Israeli parliament. The convention and the lobby is lead by parliament member Juliya Shmalov-Berkovich. In the convention there were about 15 speakers (including PH.D. Zamir Shalita, BSC Ram dishon, Rony keller, Zvi Shevach, PH.D. Yael Stein, Mr. David Bar-Dror, Knesset members and myself) who gave short lectures and explanations. The aim of the lobby is to push for better cellphone's regulation and lows, to create and develop public awareness to the dangers of exposure to RF/cellphone radiation, to limit the use of cellphones by childrens, to include warning about possible health risk on cellphones, to make cellphone companies to send SMS messages with radiation warning every day, and to limit the why that cellphone companies will be able to publish their products, to develop and find ways to limit the public danger from cellphone radiation.

I was lucky to present a short presentation about the unknown side to radiation and about electromagnetic hyper sensitivity, It was the first time that an EHS person appeared in a meeting in the Israeli parlament and the first time that the issue of Electromagnetic Hyper sensitivity was addressed by other people in the convention.

Please note that Israel is a small country but it is the world leader on cellphone use, maybe we can also be world leader in awareness for EHS and RF/ELF dangers.
