I just saw "Generation Zapped" documentary, and I liked it!

Today I watched the "Generation Zapped" documentary, together with 3 other Activist/EHS people here in Israel.
It took us about 8 hours to watch the 74 minutes movie, as we paused and talked, changed views and added knowledge and information about the subjects that were brought up in the movie.
I like the wide view of the movie while also covering EHS.
I believe that EHS has a key role in the campaign of awareness for safer communication, better standards, acknowledgment of the risk, damage and of people who got hurt, as it prove that there is an  effect of EMF radiation, even in small levels.

I recommend to watch it.

New clip - radiation from a mobile phone and a wired earpiece.

In this movie clip I tried to answer the following question "is it true that when using a wired earpiece some of the mobile phones radiation is carried on the wire to the user head?"

In order to answer this question I did 2 measurements of the electromagnetic radiation 100 cm away from the phone, first with a wired earpiece and the second with using the speaker phone option of the phone.

In both measurements the mobile phone was places 100 cm away from the EMR meter. 100 cm is the max possible distance that a use can keep from the mobile phone when using a wired earpiece, because the length of the cable. The measurement does not represent the amount of radiation a "normal" user will be exposed to since most people hold the mobile phone in their hand or on their body while using the wired earpiece or the speaker phone option. A "safe user" should try to keep the mobile phone as far as possible from his body when using it.

The measurements show that when using the wired earpiece the user is exposed to more radiation when using the speaker phone option when the phone is 100 cm away from the head/meter. In both cases the radiation levels are a lot lower than when putting the mobile phone next to the users head. The measurement shows that some of the radiation emitted by the mobile phone is transferred over the earpiece wire to the user head.

New video - Radiation from Bluetooth earpiece and Cell phone

Bluetooth devices are very cool, they allow you to use electronic gadgets like cell phones, Wii , and others without using cords and wires. But there is a down side, and yes you guessed it right. All Bluetooth devices emit Electromagnetic Radiation, some in bursts and some all the time and this movie will try to show you that radiation is being emitted from a Bluetooth earpiece and a cell phone while on standby mode. Bluetooth earpiece have become very popular and some people wear it all day long on their ear, these people also hold their cell phone in their pockets or in a belt clipper and by that expose themselves to electromagnetic radiation all day long.

Radiation from ECO DECT Phone vs regulare DECT phone

In the clip there is a comparison between a regular DECT phone and an ECO DECT phone. Those two cordless phones types are different in the way they work. ECO DECT phone is designed to save electricity by not transmitting while in standby mode, while regular DECT phones transmit all the time even in standby mode. This fact is making a very big difference in the “radiation” aspect. DECT phones’ base stations radiate all the time while ECO DECT phones’ base stations radiates only during a conversation and several seconds after. While talking on the ECO DECT phone, both the base station and the handset emits radiation, radiation which you and your family are exposed to, there for I don’t recommend using any cordless phone for more than few minutes.

In some of the ECO DECT phones that are sold today, thק ECO mode needs to be setup and is available only if there is one headset configured.

This video will show you that high levels of ELF (Extreme Low Frequency) radiation are being emitted from the bottom of the laptop. People sometimes put the laptop on the lap (that is why it is called “a laptop”). When doing so they are exposed to that ELF radiation, in addition to the heat generated by the laptop parts.

This video will show you that Electromagnetic Radiation is emitted from WiFi wireless routers.

The amount of radiation is dependable of the amount of data being transmitted. If, for example, one person used this router to download and read text email via his laptop than the radiation's level will be modest, but if the same person will use the router to access the net and download a HD movie or to watch it real time (streaming) the level will be higher, much higher and for a longer time. You will not find a warning on the router or on the router's box. I my self has this kind of router, but the WIFI is always OFF, some routers can be configured no to transmit but not all.

In this clip you can see that electro magnetic radiation is being emitted from DECT cordless phones' base station even when the phone is in standby mode. People buy these phones and put them right next to their bad or couch unknowingly exposing them selves to electro magnetic radiation. The EMR is being emitted from the DECT phones' base stations 24 hours a day 7 days a week. You will find no warning about this issue on the package of the DECT phone when you buy it.
