2 words and lots of PR soft the finding of a 25 million $ study that find cell phone radiation is not healthy for you. This is my headline after reading the first 12 pages of the 2 summaries of the NTP study published this month.
The Study found the following main findings:

1. Higher ratio of Glioma in the mail rates that were exposed.
2. Higher radio of Swanova of the heart (cancer in the similar cells as in the case of acoustic neuroma).
3. Precancerous conditions in rats and mice that were exposed.
4. Smaller wait for offsprings
5. Evidence of DNA breaks in exposed animals. 

The 2 words that play a crucial part in downgrading the outcomes of the NTP study, and I am guessing were inserted to the summary of the study by a PR professional or someone who wanted to downgrade that all study, are "equivocal" and "some". accompanied to the word "evidence" they  light a shady light on the outcomes. These words not only downgrade the outcomes of the study, they also present the all study as doubtful, dubious & unreliable.

In cases that the study showed statistically unsignificant results (but still a risk) or that he risk was seen in only one exposure group they used the term - "equivocal evidence" (please see in the picture below undermarked with a  Red line).

FDA, FCC and other Non-ionizing damage demiers PR claim the study outcomes show that as they suspected the risk is not too high. They also point out that in their opinion the exposure was higher than every day users are exposed to.
I read some articles that actually argue that their understanding of the NTP results is that  "cell phone use makes you lose weight and increase your lifespan.

The PR of this article turned the facts around. The  NTP is a study that show DNA DAMAGE in life mammals(!!!) due to cellphone radiation exposure. It shows procarcinogenic condition in exposed animals(!!!). It shows higher cancer rates of Glioma and acoustic neuroma in exposed rates (!!!).

Regardless of the PR, I hope that when this study will be discussed in closed rooms of the IARC and other scientific bodies, it will contribute to the understanding that cell phone radiation is a clear carcinogenic.  

Cellphones are back in to the Israeli education system

Few months back Cellphone use was banded in schools by the ministry of education.
This was done according to several CEO memos and press releases.
Sadly, this week cellphones were reentered to the Israeli education system by a report of a comity  that allow the use of cellphones (smart phones) for educational needs according to some limitation.

The minister of Treasury (Finance), Moshe Kahlon,  ordered the cancellation of import taxes on smartphones.
Cellphones and smartphones cost is going to be reduced by 15%.

Back in 2011, Kahlon, acting then as the communication ministry, gained credit of creating the condition for the "cellphone revolution in Israel" (opening the market for 2 new carriers), which brought down the price for time package to around 35NIS (about US$10) for all including monthly Voice+Data package. This reduction in price allowed more people to talk and use their cellphone for more time.

These 2 actions of Kahlon are regarded by the Israeli public as very welcomed. As the public is addicted to the use of these devices and is unaware or knowingly refuse to understand that the use can contribute to health problems such as Cancer and Electromagnetic Hyper Sensitivity(EHS).

The spin of the last ministry of education CEO memo

Few days ago (http://norad4u.blogspot.co.il/2017/04/ceo-memo-from-ministry-of-education.htmll)  I reported about the recent CEO memo of the ministry of education released on the 5/04/2017. I thought it was a good step forward. But then it was reviled to me that the ministry of education have released a more robust memo just one day before, on the 4/4/2017 which banneded all use of cell phones by teachers and staff in schools and halting the use of cellphones for education purpose until future inspection of the issues.
It seems (from a report in Israeli newspapers, and from info I got from an activist) that this more robust ban was faced by opposition from the educational staff , teachers, and from schools that use cellphones in their educational program.  In order to face this opposition, the ministry issued a more softer version that only banned personal use.

Just an other piece of propaganda?
Back in the days of the appeal to the Israeli Supreme Court to asking stop the deployment of WIFI in schools, the ministry of education argued that WIFI tablets and laptops emit less radiation than smart phones (which is not true in all cases), and there for it's deployment will reduce the exposure in schools. This propaganda was widely used. But now if you look at what happens in schools in Israel, in many of which smart phones are used daily, it turns out that it was just an other empty slogan (and a spin) and the use of smart phones in schools is widely done, side by side with WIFI (adding to the radiation from WIFI systems), and even in schools that don't have WIFI.
Some will say "they use the smart phones with the WIFI not with cellular data", I am sorry to say that in real life this will not hold as most people , teachers included, don't know how to turn off the cellular data and leave only the WIFI On (and as I said before, WIFI in not better than cellular data in all cases).

One must Read between the lines
Reading between the lines of the Israeli Ministry of Education CEO memo, shows that as before still today, the ECO Memos are mostly propaganda, at list as far as non ionizing radiation is Concerned.
their purpose is create a misleading picture as if the ministry is acting to lower exposure, while in the field nothing is changed and without holding the ministry to real action. This is while the ministry does it best to deploy more Radio frequency Radiation (RFR) emitting emitting devices, and encouraging the use of more RFR devices in the class, and while the exposure in the school is becoming bigger and bigger.

One step forward, one step back
The banned over personal cellphone use by educational personal and staff is a positive thing. In same cases it will help to reduce exposure. Such is in my case, were in my kids kinda gardens the staff use their smart phones all day long, even when near the children.

I think that the lesser evil of using a cell phone in a car is using a in car cell phone with an external antenna. The exposure of the driver in this case are lower then when using a hand held cellphone inside a car , and usually lower from his exposure from RF radiation from cell tower.

CELL - a story by Stephen King , now the movie

 In 2006, 2 years into severe EHS, after reading several books by Stephen King I read the book "Cell".

And it was great!
It rooked my world.
I could not believe that someone from across the sea, sees what I see, think what I think and wrote a book about it.
This book is a novel about a post apocalyptic world of the zombie type, but combine in it also a much deeper layer of criticism about what the human society have become and prophecy about what it is about to be.

New study from the NTP link cell phone radiation and cancer

The study showed that some of the rates that were exposed to RF (GSM and CDMA) developed Glioma and malignant Schwannoma of the heart. Non of the "not exposed" rates developed these tumors.

The rate were divided into 4 groups of exposure  SAR 0 (control), 1.5, 3 and 6. 

The exposure was for 2 years, 18 hours a day, 10 minutes On , 10 minutes Off.

The study is not the first that show these kind of results. But it is the first US government study that show them. This is the most important thing about this study, not the cost of the study, not the rates of cancer found, not the flaws or strong points. 2.6 millions of people found them selfs' without a mobile phone connection

last week on the 21/03/2016, a fire broke out in the electricity cabinet of the service router one of biggest mobile phone providers in Israel, Pelephone. The fire cause the main service router of the company to stop working and it took long hours for the company to divert all the service to the secondary router. Mean while, for the first time in year, it's costumers, about 2.6 millions, found them self's'  "left to their own devices" with out a cellphone service.
The event shock the country.
The after shock of this event was that some people and professionals started to talk about the addiction of the public cellphones and the "fear to miss out".

RF EMF Radiation measurement 4G Data vs 3G Data

This is the first time I have a chance to compeer between the RF EMF Radiation emitted while in 4G Data and 3G data modes.
In this video I show the RF radiation emitted from an iPhone 5 in 2 modes: 4G Data and 3G Data, both with the same supplier.
The measurment was taken in home conditions and when the 4G Data network is only been operational for few weeks (we expect many RF emitting 4G antenna to be install and that our exposure will go up because of that).

Good news from ISRAEL.

On Sunday the 23/03/2014, parents from NEGBA primary school stopped sending their kids to school after Cell Tower antennas were not removed. A month ago it was promised by the municipality of Rishon Lezion that the antennas (see bellow) will shortly be removed. 30 elementary school students might be EHS in Rishon Lezion, Israel

A  few days ago, it was brought to my attention that there might be about 30 EHS students in one of the elementary schools in Rishon Lezion, Israel.
The school is located 25 meters from cellphone base stations that are installed on the roof of a shopping center, just a cross the street. In addition WIFI was installed in this school a few months ago and cellphone use is not banned in the classes.
According to a survey that was done by one of the parents, it seems that about 30 kids, mostly from the classes that face the antennas, are suffering from chronic headaches, skin issues, nausea and some more symptoms.

The parents held 2 meetings so far, in which I took part. The first meeting was in the offices of the municipality of Rishon Lezion, with municipal representatives. At the beginning of the meeting the municipal representative  ruled out the radiation as a possible cause of the symptoms, saying that the RF testing report by MALRAZ showed very low radiation levels. After hearing what the parents had to say and my explanations about EHS in addition to criticism about the radiation test report,  the municipal representatives agreed to take a second opinion and order a second test by a radiation tester which was suggested both by them and the parents (who I personally know and trust to show the real level even thought they are expected to be well bellow the Israeli RF standard which is 10% of ICNIRP thermal, non-protective standard).
The municipal city council member who is responsible for the environment protection in the city of Rishon Lezion, Ms's Yifat Meirovitz Yefet, reported about here efforts in the last year to remove the cellphone base station from the shopping center next to the school, so far without success. She reported that there is a new chance that the cell phone company will agree to remove the antennas soon.

Later on we (my self and about 30 parents) met in one of the parent's apartments to update the parents about the meeting with the municipal representatives, to let the other parents say whatever is on their mind and to coordinate the next steps,. In the beginning of the meeting, I shared with them info about EHS, the symptoms, how to diagnose their children , how to reduce their exposure and the necessity of acting to defend their children.

Wireless addicts and zombies

iPad, iPhones, Smart-phones, cell-phones are fun and addicting.

Every function of these devices is designed to be addicting with their funny, cute, humanistic feedback and lots of stimulation.

Adults, parents, kids, and even babies are addicted.

 
The addiction of a person to these smart, fast changing, colorful, full of stimulation devices will cause him to see other daily operation like working, reading, creating stuff, playing outdoors, having social life outside the virtual works as boring.

While addicted, users from all age groups are exposed to Radio Frequency radiation that will, in time, create many problematic health side effects.

Already now you can see them, "the wireless zombies" walking down the street looking into their smart phones and missing the world around.

Remember - All people are effected by Electromagnetic Radiation, not all feel the effect.

Why the SAR standard is not relevant?

SAR is a comparative value that supposes to reflect how much radiation is being absorbed into a flesh tissue when radiated by RF radiation source like a cellphone. The units are Watt per kilogram.

The measurement is based on heating of a water-sugar-salt based fluid inside a dummy which is bigger than 90% of the world adult population. The radiation source is located about 1" (2.54 cm) away from the dummy (This is way in most mobile phone user manuals it say "keep the phone at least 1" away from your body in all time") and is configured to transmit in max power. The measurement last for 6 minutes (in the time SAR was invented it was seem to be impossible that a person will use the phone for more than 6 minutes). Both temperature and RF Electric field levels are measured by a probe that is inserted to the dummy.

The SAR is addressed as the world wide official standard for cell-phones' radiation emission.

SAR measurement is not simple and there are only a small number of laboratories around the world that can actually measure it. The room of the measurement is RF and ELF shielded, and it should have no RF reflection from the walls.

Why was the SAR invented?

Officially SAR was invented to create a protocol for safety measurement of cell-phoned. Since cell phones are held next to a person head and brain there was a need to assess the safety of the device before putting it on the market. There is a technical difficulty to measure RF radiation very close to the source (in the "near field") and there was a need to find a way to measure the levels without using RF radiation flux density. One way of doing this is to measure at least 3 field lengths away from the source and calculate backwards the RF radiation levels in the head and brain. The result of this calculation showed higher levels than what is allowed by ICNIRP so called safety standard which is based only on heat effect.  So the need for a new standard that will give KOSHER stamp to all cellphone (even if they emit very high levels of RF radiation) appeared.

Because SAR is so difficult to understand people takes it as granted and don't question the logic behind it. 

What is wrong with the SAR?

1.    Temperature, heat effect based standard (heat concept, don't protect from biological influences, changes and damage at none thermal levels of RF radiation).

2.    Measured on a dummy filled with sugar-salt water.

3.    The sugar salt water is homogeneous. The brain is not, and it has more and less condensed parts and different tissues. Test has shown that there are hot spots in the brain where the SAR levels are about 10 times more than the measured SAR on a dummy.

4.    The dummy size and shape is of a big grownup. Childrens' heads are much smaller and the radiation penetration to the head is higher. The SAR does not cover children and small adults.

5.    The Dummy is made out of plastic and does not block or reflect RF radiation as the skull does. In a real head, hot spots are created due to the reflection of the RF radiation from the skull.

6.    The basic assumption in the time that the SAR was invented was that the longest possible cellphone use will less tha 6 minutes (funny funny ha ha).

7.    In the SAR measurement there is no expression to the ELF magnetic and electric fields that are created around a cellphone while it transmits. Exposure to this fields from levels of 2mG is considered to be a health risk. In GSM phones the ELF magnetic field can go up to several hundreds of mG, but it will not influence the SAR level.

An article in one of Israeli leading news paper "Haaretz" (http://www.haaretz.com/news/national/israeli-scientists-find-possible-link-between-cellphone-use-thyroid-cancer.premium-1.507552) introduced a new study done in Israel that found that Thyroid cells partition accelerates when radiated by RF source similar (in wave and strength) to a cellphone. This could be a new link between cellphone use and Thyroid cancer.

In addition the article presents statistics about the rise of Thyroid cancer in Israel between 1990 and 2007:

1.       Jewish women – 67%

2.       Non Jewish women – 250%

3.       Jewish men (since 2000) – 41%

4.       None Jewish men (since 2000) – 6%

Geoffrey Kabat posted a his criticizing review on Dariusz Leszczynskiarticle Scientific Peer Review in Crisis”. The bellow was written as a comment to Kabats' claims.

In this article Kabat just chat about his personal opinion about the safety of cellphone. Kabat does that by criticizing Dariusz Leszczynski article Scientific Peer Review in Crisis”.

Well, Kabat is  wrong, and I will try to prove my point by telling the readers the truth and adding links to back it up.

The Danish Study – REJECTED!!!

The Danish study took the 200,000 corporate users and put them in the control group.

The Danish study was rejected by the WHO and many other on this ground.

IRNIC – Bias saying "if it does not warm you, it is safe"

The "International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation" is influenced by the industry, some of its' members and leaders work for the electric, electronic or cellphone industries. The ICNIRP does not run studies. ICNIRP just write high none biologic, so called, safety standard that takes into consideration only heat effect of the radiation and none of the biological effects.

The Interphone study – 80% elevated risk

The INTERPHONE study found that people that used the mobile phone for more than 27 minutes a day for 10 years had 40% elevated risk for getting one type of brain tumor. If you look at appendix 2 of it, which try to correct the bias control group, the elevated risk goes up to 80%.

Extreme low frequency magnetic field is not dangerous
