Do You want beter EMF standards that protects the public and not the industry?

Do you want the WHO (World Health Organization) to adopt new EMF (electromagnetic radiation) standards that protect people and not the industry?

AVAAZ (http://www.avaaz.org/en/about.php) is a nonprofit organization with more than 9000000 members, that operate from 192 countries and in 14 different languages.

Recently I got an email ( from Emma, an EMR awareness activist from new Zealand) calling me to fill in a request for AVAAZ to act on to put pressure on the WHO to adopt new EMR standards that take into consideration biological effects and cumulative exposures. I have decided to replay Emma's email and to fill in the request. Now I call upon you friends, activists and my readers, to do the same.

If you can please fill in the request at: http://www.avaaz.org/en/contact/

Choose the option: " Suggest a new campaign"

And fill in your details.

I suggest using the following text:

Header: 'EMF (Electromagnetic Radiation) Safety'

Message body:

"“Please lobby the WHO to promote a precautionary approach to public health and safety; reject the current ICNIRP EMF guidelines and develop new safety standards which take into account biological effects and cumulative exposures.

Thanks a lot!"

Please find attached a picture of my request.

Please feel free to forward this email to friends, relatives and people you know.

Together we can make a difference!!!

Thanks in advance!

extream low frequency EMR from standby electronics

Some electric and electronic appliances and devices emit ElectroMagnetic Radiation (EMR) and consume electricity even when on standby mode, even when not in use. The best way to reduce this emission and electricity consumption to 0 is to unplug the devices from the electricity power outlet. However this is not always easy to do and can sometime be a little bit dangerous. In this clip we will see how a multi socket power outlet with a power switch can solve this issue. We will see that all the devices emit EMR when connected to the power source and does not emit any EMR when the power switch is turned off.

EMR sources outdoor

EMR sources outdoor

While you are outside the house, on a trip, on your way somewhere, or if your house or working place are close by to an EMR source, you can be exposed to outdoor EMR sources in high and low frequencies.

Low frequency sources outdoors:
• High and low voltage Electric power lines.
• Electric substations.
• Street power converters.
• Electric transportation power lines.

High frequency sources outdoors:
• Wireless communication facilities.
• Cell phone masts.
• TV and radio broadcasting stations.
• WiFi and WiMax regional communication equipment.

How to limit the exposure outdoors:
while you have some control over the EMR source in your home and workplace by keeping a safe distance, minimizing the use and unplugging the source of EMR when not in use - when you are outside you have almost no active control over the EMR sources. What you have control over, is yourself, and yourself only. Using one or several of our products, you can control your exposure and decrees it to the minimum possible.
• Ware “EMR protective hat”.
• Use shielding products to decrees the penetration of the EMR from outdoor sources, like cell phone masts, to your house.
• Limit your stay near Electric power line, electric substations, street power converters, and other low frequency EMR sources you can see and detect.
• Limit your stay near Cell phone masts and other high frequency sources you can see and detect.

EMR sources in the workplace

EMR sources in the workplace

The use of electric and electronic equipment in the workplace is more diverse and more widely used than in our house. Industrial Electric equipment and electronic office equipment are the back bone of almost every business. The use of electric equipment and machinery gives us power to do actions that a single man could never do before. The use of electronic equipment enables us to communicate, to control, to program and better manage our work. Most of the time, the concern for the worker comfort and for health comes only in second place after efficiency and practicality. There for the worker, both in an old fashion factory and in a high-tech company may find him self closer to a big verity of EMR sources. Try to cover all possible sources of EMR is almost impossible so we will try to create a short list of the main possible sources in addition to the sources that are also found in the house environment and are also very common in the workplace.

EMR low frequency common sources in the workplace:

Everything with an electric motor (power tools, heavy machinery)

Industrial Air condition

Electric power cabinets

Power suppliers and voltage converters

Emergency power backup systems.

Fans

Computers and laptops

EMR High frequency common sources in the workplace:

Wireless communication equipment, DECT and other types of cordless phones

WiFi routers and equipment

Bluetooth equipment

Yours’ and other’s cell phone when using it , and once in a while in stand-by mode.

Point to point computer communication systems.

How to limit the exposure at the workplace

In your work place you are more limited with the amount of control you have over the sources of radiation and with the changes you may do in your surrounding area. The same basic rule that applies with EMR sources inside your home, applies in this case, as well. By following some basic rules, you can reduce your exposure to EMR at your workplace.

Keep a safe distance from working electric and electronic equipment.

Minimize the use of cordless phones, WiFi, Bluetooth and cell phone while in the office.

Disconnect electric equipment from the power socket when not in use.

EMR sources in the house

EMR sources in the house:

We all use electric and electronic equipment in the house. Electronic equipment makes our life much easier. Usually when electronic equipment is being used, electromagnetic radiation is being emitted from it, mostly in low frequency, but sometime also in High frequency.

EMR low frequency sources in the house:

CRT TV

Air condition.

Refrigerators.

Electric Ovens.

Power suppliers and voltage converters.

Stereo and home entertainment systems.

Fans.

Computers and laptops

In house wiring.

Electric cabinets.

Electric Heating systems including Electric floor heating systems (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_heating).

Compact fluorescent lamp (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compact_fluorescent_lamp)

EMR High frequency sources in the house:

DECT and other types of cordless phones, even on standby mode

Microwave ovens, when in use.

WiFi routers and equipment.

Bluetooth equipment.

Your cell phone, when using it, and once in while in Standby mode.

Baby monitors.

How to limit the exposure in the house:

In your house you are the master, you can very easily control the way you use the equipment. By following some basic rules and steps you can reduce your exposure. So what to do?

Keep a safe distance from working electric and electronic equipment.

Minimize the use of cordless phones, WiFi, Bluetooth and cell phone while in the house.

Disconnect electric equipment from the power socket when not in use.
