The Gas blast happened yesterday (17/02/2014) night at 2 AM, killing 5 people, including one 8 year old, and 10 people were wounded. The three story building collapsed on the people sleepping inside of it. Magen david (ambulance services), fire brigades, IDF rescue teams rushed to the area to dig out the survivors and bodies and to supply some emergency medical assistance to the wounded that were later evacuated to hospitals in northern Israel.
Later on today, the brother of one of the victims, argue the the family received threats over the installation and activation of a cellphone mast on the roof of the building.
It seems that in Israel, struggles over the existence of cellphone mast near and in urban areas are sometime escalating into violence. In other cases people wait in vain for the law and courts to help them.
I must say that I think that turning to violence is a wrong move. I am very sorry for the people who died tonight and would like to offer my condolences to the families. On the other hand I think that installing cellphone mast in urban areas are also an act of violence and bulliness even that today it is legal.
