Researches from the Georgia Institute of Technology, published a study in which they say that 90% of the people can feel a phantom vibration feeling when the smartphone is not in their pocket.
I think they are wrong. I think it has nothing to do with the vibration feature of the phone. I think the effect is caused by the RF and ELF radiation emitted from the smartphone while on idle mode, in which it keeps transmitting in the case the 3G/4G Data, WIFI and Bluetooth are On or when getting an SMS or when receiving a phone call.
This radiation cause the creation of currents over the nerves and next to muscles, by that causing a vibration feeling even when the phone is not in vibration mode.
Later on when the person gets the smartphone out of his body, the feeling continues as a phantom feeling.

"Researches from the Georgia Institute of Technology, published a study in which they say that 90% of the people can feel a phantom vibration feeling when the smartphone is *not* in their pocket." The word NOT should be removed. It wasn't in the original title of the article.
ReplyDeleteCorrect! This is media inserting a word to change the all meaning of the study.
DeleteThis is the quote form the study "This refers to when phone users perceive their device to vibrate, indicating that a call or text is incoming, when in fact the phone did not vibrate at all."

Yes, I agree that the weird tingling, muscle twitching feeling from the 3G/4G mobile can be mistaken as the vibration of the phone. I feel it sometimes when it is in my back pocket.
ReplyDeleteTurn off the 3G/4G data, WIFI and bluetooth and this feeling will be gone.
